First Photo Week.

Well welcome to our start of the weekly photo updates. I am excited to be back on the blog, so soon. I won’t be as photos heavy as you may want. I will try this format out for a while and see what happens.

I bought this lovely kit at Joann Fabrics, just yesterday actually. It is a kit by Janlynn called Heavy Going Grizzly. It’s not the whole picture do to the fact that it had a sticker in the middle of the image. I will be adding this to my stash until I have completed some of my WIPs. I will be showing any new stash buys at the start of my weekly updates unless it is a serious haul then I will try to do a haul post as soon as I buy it.

I started working on an alliance, as well as a horde symbol from World of Warcraft, yes it was a fresh start.Though I am making it as a gift from my boyfriend so I thought that it would be alright to stretch the rules a little. I plan on having them framed together but maybe not, it will be up to him. I’m sorry that the progress isn’t very much but I haven’t done a lot of stitching with Easter weekend, and other things in life.

The finish of the Anniversary sampler, more  on it in a later post with hopefully better pictures.

The finish of Harvest Home. Just like the Anniversary Sampler, this will have a spot in the Friday Finishes.

Thank you so much for reading/looking through my first Photo Update. It means a lot for all of you to take the time to look at my blog, I hope you all enjoy it just as much as I do. Thank you again.

Update Time.

Well, it has been a while since I’ve been on my blog, I apologize for my absents. I still haven’t found a schedule that will work with my life, my stitching, and my blog. I do hope that these new ideas will help my stay on track. I would love to introduce you all to a few of my previous finishes by starting a Finishes Friday. Mostly just for the last Friday of a month. As well I am planning on starting a Weekly Photo Update, where I post pictures of my updates roughly every week. Some exceptions will be necessary of course, just to keep from posting on weeks with no progress. I also plan of finishing my WIPs before starting new projects, more on that plan later. Well enough with my blabbing and on to the update.
The Winter Song Ornament from Dimensions did go back into the stash for a while. I plan on pulling it back out next year as a weekend project for the months leading up to Christmas. I hardly started it so there really isn’t much to see as far as progress is concerned.

My parents anniversary record is coming along very smoothly. I am under a month away from my deadline, which is slightly a scary feeling. Though I am happy to report that I have a sliver of back stitching left, actually I am taking a break for it to do this blog post. I also have over a hundred French Knots left. Oh how I despise French Knots. Pictures of this will be up on a post the shows the end result.

I have pushed my SAL way off the side. I enjoy the stitching on Linen but not so much the pattern. I mean it is adorable and all but just not something I am looking forward to working on, sadly. I hope that will change shortly. I will have picture up on this when I start it back up.

I have a semi new start, I have had this project sitting in the bottom of my WIP bin for a while. I officially started it last November, but rediscovered it about a week or two ago. I was close to half way done when it was put away, as for now it is roughly done. I will also be doing a finishing post with some pictures I took during the progress of this one.

I hope you enjoyed my update, I will have pictures soon. I plan on doing a post on the Anniversary Record finish very soon. We will have to see if the French Knots make me pull my hair out first or if I will be lucky. The next update should be a photo update that will show some WIPs being pulled back out again. Back to stitching for now.

Whoa, Where Have I Been?

Well time for this blogger to re-enter the blogosphere. I know I have been gone for a long time, by all faults of my own. I thought I'd catch up with you all, though. To be honest, I have not been into cross stitching like crazy lately.. Which is very sad to me. I'm truly hoping this blog post will help me get back into the swing of it. Since my last post I have had three new starts and zero finish.. pretty bad luck.
I started another ornament cross stitch, but since Christmas passed I put it back into my stash. I hope to see this one get picked back up around September again.

I also started an anniversary sampler for my parents 25 wedding anniversary coming later this year, more to come on this one later. I have currently set it to the side but might need to pick it back up seeing as it has a dead line.

Lastly, I have started my very first Stitch A-Long! Yay! Much more to come on this one! Although I am not the biggest fan of the first pattern, but I am beyond stoked for the ones to come. I must admit I have little to no progress on this one.. So I've got to get back on my cross stitching game and soon!

Not a whole lot going on but I for sure need to get to work on them. I shall be starting a blogging schedule soon, so look forward to that. Though for now I need to work on my stitching.

And Hearts are Warmed.

As you all can see, I have mostly finished the Warm Hearts Ornament. It was a joy to stitch, the kit came with the floss on the presorted card, the chart is bi-colored (with red and black), and the plastic canvas makes life so much better. Though it was a blast, I am glad it is mostly complete minus the felt backing, the cutting out, and the string that is used to hang it. Although those are small things that will take no time to fix, if I'd take the time to do them, it still seems incomplete. I am very sorry for the poor lighting, I took this picture in a dim light room at night on my iPhone. I will try to be more aware of the time of day next post. I know it took a bit longer then I had imagined, this kit should not take more than 2 weeks for a laid back stitcher and I'd guess a week at most for a fast paced stitcher. Although those are just guesses, I think this would be great for the weekends leading up to Christmas. By the way, does anyone have an ideas on the felt backing color?

We Warm Hearts.

Currently, I am working on this lovely (going to be) ornament. It’s a rather quick piece that should take no more then next week to finish. I’m making the ornament for a cross stitch tree (a fake 6″ plastic tree) I have to plan to have in future years. I have complete the ‘Holly and Ivy Ornament’ which is similar to this. I plan to complete more from this collection, by Dimensions for Christmas 2012, which are in my stash. I do plan to buy more from my local Joann’s seeing as they still have them in the clearance bin, please wish my wallet the best of luck.

Oh, Sweet Fawn

The first cross stitch, I ever worked on/completed. It was a kit that I had picked out from Joann Fabrics, one day while shopping with my mother.  With her advice and much need help I started working on it. This is what it looks like currently, it sits in a box with some other finished works of mine. It was never washed or ironed, pardon the wrinkles and the stains. The picture was taken just recently, on my iPhone.

Getting Started.

Why hello.

The whole blogging thing is new, so please excuse me. I love the timeless hobby of cross stitching, which is why I created Mars Stitchery. My thoughts on using this blog is to showcase my cross stitch projects, ones I have started, those in progress, and some I have finished. Along with those, some I have intentions of starting or adding to my stash. I may also post about recent hauls, including but not limited to new patterns, floss, materials, etc. I do hope you stick around to see this blog get stitched together.
